In his new single “Take A Picture”, Sub Blue sings “Come and take a picture with me… We got an attention addiction and we don’t wanna fix it”. Whilst singing about the narcissism and dopamine-hit addiction which plagues our young generation, the Liverpool-based artist established himself as a hugely exciting rising star.

The artist – real name Tyler Mensah – takes his stage name from his self-styled music “suburban blues” – a consciously introspective form of R&B which fits perfectly in today’s music landscape.

On single “Teen No More” (produced by Sir Dylan [The Weeknd, Miguel, Logic] and A.V. [Frank Ocean]) he sings about losing your teenage-hood and becoming an adult and on “Hype Like Supreme” (produced by Future Fresh alumni Xam Volo) he sings troubled relationships against a backdrop of “fashion and adoration”.

For us, it’s “Take A Picture” that Sub Blue shines the brightest so far – however, the internet seems split on which track is his best to date, with piles of positive reviews across all his releases. We’ll just have to settle on the fact that all his tracks are exceedingly impressive!
