The BRIT Awards 2018 with Mastercard today announce that international rock superstars and four-time BRIT winners Foo Fighters are confirmed to make their debut appearance on the BRITS, bringing their legendary live performance to the biggest night in UK music for the first time ever on Wednesday 21st February at The O2 Arena, London.

Foo Fighters are one of the world’s most successful bands with more than 25 million records sold and countless sold out world tours under their belts. The band's acclaimed ninth studio album ‘Concrete and Gold’ was their fourth to hit No.1 in the UK charts on release in September, topping the charts in more than a dozen countries and posting the band’s biggest ever first week numbers worldwide. Foo Fighters will follow up their show-stopping Glastonbury headline last summer with three massive stadium shows in Manchester and London in June.

BRITs Chairman & CEO and Chairman of Sony Music UK & Ireland Jason Iley said “Anyone who was lucky enough to witness one of their shows on the recent sold out UK tour, or their set at Glastonbury - which was undoubtedly one of the best performances the festival has ever seen and a night that will be talked about forever - will know why Foo Fighters are the biggest and most exciting rock band in the world. Quite remarkably they have never performed at the BRITs, so I am over the moon to confirm a massive BRITs exclusive to have them grace our stage.”

Joining the previously announced Ed Sheeran, Stormzy, Dua Lipa and Sam Smith, Foo Fighters - Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett, Pat Smear and Rami Jaffee - have previously won the award for Best International Group three times: in 2008, 2012 and 2015, giving them a tally of four BRIT awards to date including a win for Best International Album in 2008.

The 38th BRIT Awards will be broadcast live on ITV and take place for the eighth year in a row at The O2, London.

Mastercard is celebrating its 20th year as headline sponsor of the BRIT Awards, and continues its sponsorship of the much sought-after Mastercard Album of the Year Award.
