Music trends come in waves and tides, and whilst a mash-up of Latin American pop and Justin Bieber-featuring-on-every-song pop is currently dominating the Top 40, bands looking to fill the indie-rock void are experimenting.

If typography dictated the sound of a band: ISLAND would be an angry rock band singing about being washed up ashore. But, indeed, as music does… they’re not. The four-piece from London are much more chilled, much more lower case.

The track that caught our attention was ‘Dreaming Of’ from their latest EP ‘A Place You Like’.  Seeing as we really like a private ISLAND, it felt appropriate. The song is much more interesting than much of the music currently ruling the charts (he says whilst singing along to Despacito and Mi Gente) and manages to catch your attention with its guitar riffs and softly sung vocals.

We like.
