BPI has long supported our members and the wider industry with data and research to help track changes and trends in music consumption.  

Aside from weekly and monthly updates based on exclusive-access data from the Official Charts Company, the Insight team creates bespoke pieces of in-house analysis and compiles the best third party data for inclusion in its All About The Music yearbook, which has been published annually since 1976 and is considered the definitive resource for anyone with an interest in the UK recorded music market.

The team also produces ad-hoc insights upon request for members and works closely with other BPI departments for data requirements (including initiatives around communications, events and strategy) as well as administering the renowned BRIT Certified and BRIT Billion Awards scheme.

The Insight team also coordinate many talks, presentations and panels bringing in experts to share their learnings and knowledge to inform and inspire our record label members in their operations. The BPI helps to deepen understanding of topics and trends through the long-running Insight Session Series presented in association with audio partner Bowers & Wilkins
