There are three types of BPI membership:

Full Membership

(For UK copyright owners)
£50
2024 fee (inc. VAT – £60)

Full membership is for record companies that either own or exclusively license UK sound recording copyrights. The annual membership fee is £120 plus VAT and 3.5% of PPL UK distribution payments.

Please note the BPI Membership fee is payable annually on January and will automatically renew unless cancelled in advance. If you join after January 2023 you will be charged a pro rata fee for your membership.

Associate membership is for companies that do not own nor exclusively license UK sound recording copyrights. Associate members are not able to vote of stand for election to the BPI Council. The annual membership rate is bespoke to each applicant.

Music & Tech Springboard

For Music & Tech Startups

As part of BPI’s efforts to encourage innovation, we are offering startups access to all of BPI’s resources – from market intelligence, to free training courses and free access to networking events – for free in 2021 - in light of the challenges startups face due to the effects of Covid-19.

In order to qualify, companies must operate in the music & tech space and must fulfil either an age criteria (not older than 5 years), or size (no larger than 20 employees). Both UK and overseas applications are welcome.

Please note: Artists and labels do not qualify for the Springboard Programme, only for the Full Membership.

Staff Membership

(For staff memberships who works for member companies)
