UK record labels association the BPI is delighted to announce that “Wisdom Wednesdays” returns on 13th November and will be hosted by Gibson Brands, 61-62 Eastcastle St, Fitzrovia, London W1W 8NQ.

This event will enable BPI members to network, learn and be inspired. The evening consists of two parts – a panel discussion and Q&A with four successful music industry professionals sharing their personal journey, and offering invaluable insight into their thought processes, followed by a mixer with free drinks and pizza.

The latest panel focuses on music curators – how they made it and the roles they play in shining the spotlight on exciting music in an attention-poor music landscape. With fierce dedication and deep knowledge of their respective cultural niches, our fantastic speakers each look after a wide spectrum of genres, from mainstream to cutting edge pop, through to urban and alternative. In this panel we will try to uncover the paths they have travelled – how they discovered music, how they managed to turn their passion into a career, how they navigated the ups and downs of the various cultural shifts they witnessed along the way, and what makes them tick.

Our speakers cover a wide variety of backgrounds, with BBC Radio 6 Music’s Sam Moy, GRM Daily’s Posty, Popjustice’s Peter Robinson and Spotify’s Sara Sesardic. (See below for more information on the panellists).

Previous Wisdom Wednesdays events have hosted speakers from Abbey Road, AEI, Barbican, BMG, Concord Music, Dirty Hit, Downtown Music, Glassnote UK, Kobalt/AWAL, Lewis Silkin, Machine Management, Merky, PIAS, Remote Control Agency, Sony Music, Warner Music and Yes Please. Tickets normally sell-out fast, so members are asked to ensure they book their free place in advance here.

This third Wisdom Wednesdays panel of the year will be moderated by Music Week’s Ben Homewood, and the following line-up has been confirmed:
