The BRIT Awards 2020 with Mastercard have announced that they have landed British music icon Sir Rod Stewart for the UK’s biggest night in music, taking place Tuesday 18th February at The O2 Arena in London.

As one of few artists appearing with two names, the multi-million selling recording artist, who last year celebrated his 50th year as a solo artist and added his tenth #1 album to his extensive accomplishments, will join the previously announced Billie Eilish, Celeste, Dave, Harry Styles, Lewis Capaldi, Lizzo, Mabel and Stormzy to perform at the ceremony, which celebrates its 40th edition this year. This will be the second time Stewart has performed at the BRITs, having first played at the 1993 event where he also picked up the Outstanding Contribution award, one of many global accolades he has earned over his career.

Rod Stewart is one of the greatest rock ‘n’ roll singers of all time, with more than 250 million albums sold worldwide during a stellar career that that includes ten #1 albums and 26 Top 10 singles in the U.K., plus 17 Top 10 albums and 16 Top 10 singles in the U.S. Over the course of his five-decade-long career, Sir Rod Stewart has been lauded as the finest singer of his generation; he's written several songs that turned into modern standards; he's sung with pioneering rock bands The Jeff Beck Group and the Faces, and he's had massive success as a solo recording artist and live performer. As a singer and songwriter, his hits include ‘Gasoline Alley’, ‘Every Picture Tells a Story’, ‘Mandolin Wind’, ‘You Wear It Well’, ‘The Killing of Georgie’, ‘Tonight’s the Night’, ‘You're In My Heart (The Final Acclaim)’, ‘Do Ya Think I’m Sexy?’, ‘Maggie May’ and many more.

2019 closed with the release of his international chart-topping album You’re In My Heart: Rod Stewart With The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, which scored him his 10th No. 1 album in the UK, where it remained for the last three weeks of 2019.

The BRIT Awards 2020 with Mastercard take place Tuesday 18th February at The O2 Arena in London, broadcast exclusively on ITV and hosted by Jack Whitehall.

‘The BRITs at 40’ TV special will air on ITV on Tuesday 11th February, celebrating the 40th edition of The BRITs.
