UK record labels association, the BPI, today congratulates its Director of Charities & Events, Maggie Crowe OBE, on receiving the Outstanding Contribution Award at Music Week’s Women in Music 2023 Awards.

The award was presented by BPI Chief Executive Dr. Jo Twist OBE at the culmination of the annual ceremony held on Friday, 10th November at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel.

The honour recognises a four-decade career working in music – 36 of those years at the BPI – that has seen Maggie make a fundamental contribution to the successful running of the BRIT Awards and other industry events in that time and since 2015 to the Mercury Prize.  It additionally acknowledges Maggie’s relentless commitment to promoting education and wellbeing through the transformative power of music, largely via The BRIT Trust and the causes it supports such as The BRIT School and Nordoff & Robbins.

BPI Chair YolanDa Brown OBE DL, who led the accolades in a special tribute video, and who in 2022 was herself honoured as the awards’ Music Champion, said:

“I can’t speak to anyone in music without hearing the name “Maggie!”. Her work to celebrate British music through The BRIT Awards and Mercury Prize and at the BPI, and everything she does to support the generations who come though music and those still to come is just amazing. You are an inspiration Maggie - thank you and congratulations!”
