The BPI, the representative voice for the UK’s world leading record labels and music companies, today shares the video manifestos of the seven candidates who are standing for election as designated independent representatives to BPI Council.

The BPI’s Council is the key forum for discussing and deciding on the policy and activities of the BPI. Over 500 of the BPI’s members are independent labels, meaning that independent members are at the heart of the BPI’s work.

Each year, the longest standing Independent members of BPI Council must retire by rotation.  This year, Fred Jude and Henry Semmence will retire by rotation. Alice Dyson will also retire, as she has recently left her position as COO of One Media IP Group, meaning that there will be three vacancies for the election of Designated Independent Representatives to BPI Council, those retiring by rotation are entitled to re-stand for election should they wish to do so.

Henry Semmence is standing for re-election alongside six candidates standing to be elected for the first time. The results will be announced on Tuesday 28 November.

Please note, voting is only open for BPI Independent Label members.

The seven candidates with their video manifestos are as follows:

Adam Velasco, Cherry Red Records

Becky Lees – LSO Live

Femi Olasehinde, Just Another Label

Henry Semmence, Absolute Label Services

Jon Bosaen, Regent Street Records

Mark Lee, Nub Music

Michael Neidus, Demon Music Group
