The annual BPI Classical Committee/PPL Charity Quiz has raised around £7,000 – a record total for the event – for its music charity beneficiaries, which this year are Help Musicians and The BRIT Trust.

The 11th running of the always-enjoyable Quiz held at Parcel Yard, King’s Cross on 13th November was won by the team led by Mark Pemberton ahead of runners-up Naxos AudioBooks, and, in third spot, Presto Music.

Nearly 20 teams drawn from across the classical music community of record labels and distributors, retailers, and media took part, generously contributing to the success of the event – compèred by Mark Wilkinson – through table sales, raffle prize contributions, and a keen knowledge and competitive spirit.

Joint Quiz organisers, Ben Hogwood and Ginny Cooper of Naxos Music Group, said:

We’re so proud of the success of the Quiz this year and feel truly humbled by the generosity and support of the classical community in helping us to raise much-needed funds for this year’s beneficiary charities, Help Musicians and The BRIT Trust.  A huge thank you to everyone who contributed and helped to make it such an enjoyable evening, including our expert compère Mark Wilkinson. Here’s to next year’s event!
