...Press Release...

Following last year’s successful BPI/UKTI Trade mission for UK independent companies covering the Nordic markets, this year the event will look at the Germany, Switzerland & Austria (GSA) region with a two day networking and seminar programme, to be held at the British Embassy in Berlin, September 21/22nd.

Germany alone is now the world’s third largest music market and has always been a strong area for UK independent companies, with a large number of domestic labels and distributors very active in sourcing and releasing UK titles.  The mission programme will look to both inform and connect delegate companies with potential business partners in the region through panels and presentations from industry experts on licensing, publishing,  retailing, distribution, marketing, promotion, live and of course the whole fast-growing social networking and digital space there – which saw a 25% growth in the first half of 2011 and which independent companies are in the forefront of. In addition, there will be a networking evening reception hosted at the British Embassy in which UK delegates can meet local industry executives and further extend their contact lists.
