Geoff Taylor is Chief Executive of the BPI, the association representing British major and independent record labels. He is a director of the Official UK Charts Company and BRIT Awards Limited (which stages the annual BRIT Awards show), a Governor of the BRIT School for the Performing Arts & Technology in Croydon, and a Trustee of the UK music business' charity, The BRIT Trust.
Prior to joining the BPI in February 2007 Geoff was General Counsel and Executive Vice-President at the international recording industry association, IFPI, overseeing all litigation, licensing, internet anti-piracy and regulatory matters for IFPI worldwide. Prior to joining IFPI, Geoff practised EU and competition law at the US law firm Wilmer, Cutler & Pickering. He has an honours degree in Law & French from Sussex University and a postgraduate diploma in EU law from the College of Europe in Bruges.
In his spare time Geoff enjoys playing tennis, piano and watching cricket.
